Bills head coach put the blame on himself after the loss. Belichick outcoached me, said. No question about it, and that’s where the game… that’s how it ended up, and it’s unfortunate. The plan has to be better on defense. Can’t give up 500 yards and beat anybody, and then we turn it over three times. We did a horse shit job, and it’s responsibility. Philadelphia made its historic comeback with surprisingly little help from its power play

When the Canadiens need a stop they call on the shutdown pairing of Gorges and Gill, whom Crosby saw much of the conference semifinals. After not playing the first three of the postseason, O’Byrne has Jusuf Nurkic Jersey played 10 of the last 11 contests. the clinching Game 7 against Pittsburgh, the Canadiens dressed Gorges, Gill, Hamrlik, Subban, Bergeron and Spacek, and all but the latter two played more than 20 minutes.

Leighton’s amazing story continues: Picked up on waivers December, he saves the Flyers’, only to be sidelined with ankle injury March. His first game back, he has to save the Flyers again, replacing injured Boucher. He then turned winning performances Game 6 and 7. Jaroslav Halak is two series wins away from sainthood. He is tied for first save percentage, fourth goals-against average, and one of Kenneth Faried Jersey three goalies with 8 victories. Jaroslav Halak Goalie – MTL RECORD: GAA: 2 | SVP: 0 Obviously you can’t forget about Jaro and how special he’s been playing right now, Gorges said. I mean, he’s been unreal. There’s no other words to explain it. Laviolette, Flyers — Laviolette has shown his juggling skills are on par with his coaching abilities. Frequent injuries to his forward lines have kept him changing lines, but he pressed all the right buttons against Boston. He showed he could keep a team focused the worst of times and deserves a great deal of credit for not letting panic or frustration creep into the locker room., Canadiens — has been tactically sound for the entire playoff run, at times shortening his bench and not adverse to re-configuring lines, as he did before Game 4 against Pittsburgh that led to a win. He’s also made sure to give ample playing time to his pesky third line of Moore-Lapierre-Moen Benoit Pouliot, who has excelled offensively and defensively. Against Washington, benched Jaroslav Halak for one game following two-straight losses, but he’s unlikely to take such a gamble against having gotten this far.

Philadelphia made its historic comeback with surprisingly little help from its power play — the Flyers went just 2-for-15 winning three-straight to tie the series. They certainly don’t lack for skill, with Pronger and Carle at the points on the top unit, and Richards, Gagne and Giroux always around the net looking for rebounds. Gagne’s winning goal Game 7 came on the power play. The strong penalty killing the Flyers showed the first round against New Jersey carried through the semifinals, as they limited Boston to just 3 power-play goals winning the series. The Canadiens are near the top of the League playoff leaders both categories. Their power play unit is fifth at 21 percent. Eight of those scores have come on the road, and three at home. Montreal’s penalty killers have the unit fourth at 85 percent despite being shorthanded 62 times. They are 87 at home and 83 on the road. Danny Briere, Flyers — When Briere reached free agency 2007, the Canadiens made signing him a priority, but instead the Gatineau, Que., native signed Philadelphia. He became Public Enemy No. 1 at the Centre, getting booed every visit. This, he responded with 4 goals two. Jaroslav Halak, Montreal — The 25-year-old Slovak has survived the Montreal pressure cooker and made entire nation believe a No. 8 seed can win a Cup. Halak has also taken a ton of pressure off a banged-up defense that includes Subban, a rookie — albeit impressive one — who had only two of NHL experience before this postseason. That’s what I’m there for, said Halak. Guys block shots, guys score goals, kill penalties, everybody on this team contributes to what we’re doing, and I just do part. Flyers win if … They don’t get frustrated by Jaroslav Halak. The Montreal netminder has shown ability to steal by himself, and blown chances seemed to emotionally effect the Capitals and Penguins. The players have to understand that staying with the plan and continuing to generate traffic at the net eventually create cracks the Canadiens’ defense. Canadiens win if … Sure, Halak has made all the big stops, but the Canadiens have also gotten this far with a commitment to defense, blocking NHL-high 320 shots — second place Chicago is not even close with 190. Stopping all those pucks makes Montreal’s 39 goals really stand up on the scoreboard. Five of their eight wins have been by one goal. Preview compiled by Kimelman and Bonanno. Rookie Ennis comes up big for Sabres Halak anything but shaky must-win game Keith: ‘I just wanted to play the NHL’ Hornqvist latest key Pred to get hurt playoffs Laperriere willing to trade pain for victory.

ALLENDALE TOWNSHIP — It’s rare to find a student who inspires not only their peers, but their professors as well. Grand Valley State University’s Albright, 21, is one of those students. As a professor, we Vincent Jackson Jersey convey knowledge and try to inspire our students but with the flow goes the other way, computing professor and mentor Engelsma said. A special ceremony was held on Thursday to celebrate Albright’s graduation at Seidman House on the Allendale Campus. Family and the most of the computer science faculty was present as President J. Haas and Provost R. Davis awarded him with a bachelor’s degree computer science. exudes a non-bending perseverance to reach a dream and it has been very inspiring to everyone he works with, said Leidig, the director of the computing and information systems school.

Albright was diagnosed with Warren Sapp Jersey Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a disorder that weakens muscles and shortens one’s life span, when he was 4. He graduated from Hudsonville High School when he was 16 after being home-schooled by his mother. He was working year-round to get through because one of his friends with Duchenne’s died at 14, Albright said a statement. of these boys never finish high school. He began taking GVSU classes 2007. His mother joined him college to help take notes and navigate through campus. It’s funny, she seems to know as much about computer science as our students since she’s listened to classes, Engelsma said. In college, Albright became advocate for disabled students. To complete his curriculum-required internship, he helped design a smart phone application that identifies handicapped-accessible locations on campus. The app, which the team calls ‘Grand Access,’ was ultimately Albright’s idea. He collected all of the groundwork data for the project and is the domain expert. He has a trooper mentality, rain or shine, no matter what, is here, said Engelsma. His passion to graduate and to the project, which is giving back to people who have the challenges he has, is amazing. Engelsma said that Albright is always cheerful, even when he isn’t feeling well, and that he is a of. It’s impressive to how his carries him through his life, he said. Albright and his family recognized that school was becoming too stressful when he was hospitalized December. GVSU alum Kley, of the Muscular Dystrophy Association, said that he knew that Albright had already accomplished amazing things on campus, proving his mastery of computer science. Kley called the president’s office to if early graduation was a possibility. I much potential, I wanted to break down those barriers to allow him to really flourish, Kley said. The computer science faculty voted and agreed to award him his degree. Albright had a dream to graduate college and instead of using his disabilities as excuse he turned them around and used it as advantage that has made the campus more accessible, Leidig said. Besides his degree, Albright was given award recognizing the inspiration he has been for his peers. His mother received recognition for her dedication and devotion helping her son succeed. Kley said that he has already heard of possible job opportunities for Albright. He could be such a benefit to any company and if we could start putting his skills to use a working environment, that would be amazing, Kley said.

Gerrit Cole’s future in question after rocky return

Pittsburgh Pirates starter Gerrit Cole entered Monday night’s outing against the Philadelphia Phillies looking to salvage something positive from a disappointing 2016 season.

But spring training began with some bad vibes when Cole expressed disappointment over his $541,000 salary for 2016. Then came the injuries. He suffered a rib inflammation in spring training, spent time on the disabled list with a strained triceps in June and has been bothered by the elbow issue for the past month. The only positive news came during a recent trip to Los Angeles, when Dr. Neal ElAttrache ruled out any structural damage and gave him clearance to resume pitching this month.

Although the Cubs continue to build upon what is now a whopping 17-game edge on St. Louis, we know that more than anything, variance can trump all at playoff time. A mediocre Cardinals campaign would be redeemed by spoiling a Wrigleyville party 108 years in the making.

With that in mind, are there any potential pitfalls that could come into play for Chicago if the Cubs and Cardinals again hook up in October? Maybe, but we lay those out with this caveat: There aren’t many. It’s almost like this Cubs team was specifically constructed to hammer on the Cardinals.

Cole recently received clearance to resume pitching after a visit to Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles. He finishes the season with a 7-10 record in 21 starts and a 3.88 ERA — the worst of his four major-league seasons.

“There were some times where we were close,” Cole said. “There were a few highlights along the way, but it was a struggle.

“We have two weeks here to continue to try to get better. I’m not going to stop working. Just keep moving on. Obviously the mindset is different. It’s not about preparing for a start. It’s about preparing for next year. There’s work to be done, so I’ll be doing it.”

In 2015, Cole went 19-8 with a 2.60 ERA, made the All-Star team and finished fourth in National League Cy Young Award balloting.

In other moves, the Pirates called up left-hander reliever Zach Phillips from Triple-A Indianapolis. The 29-year-old Phillips was acquired from the Orioles on Aug. 31. To make room on the 40-man roster, the Pirates also put catcher Elias Diaz on the 60-day disabled list with cellulitis in his left knee.

What we learned: Giants’ collapse continues in Colorado

1. It’s easy to forget now, but the San Francisco Giants had the best record in the majors at the All-Star break at 57-33, three games up on the Chicago Cubs. After another crushing loss on Wednesday — Santiago Casilla, Josh Osich, Angel Pagan’s legs and Joe Nathan combined to blow a 5-3 lead in the ninth inning in Colorado — the Giants are 17-32 since the break, the worst record in the majors. Reading Bill James Online today, there was a reader question about how unprecedented the Giants’ free fall has been. James mentioned these teams (record through 90 games and then after) that fell apart, although not necessarily from best to worst:

1977 Cubs: 55-35 to 26-46 (finished 81-81)

1995 Angels: 56-34 to 22-33 (lost one-game playoff to Mariners)

2001 Twins: 57-33 to 28-44 (finished 85-77)

2006 Tigers: 61-29 to 34-38 (still reached World Series)

Zastryzny grabbed running back Todd Gurley with his first pick (No. 6) and then two receivers, while Hinske drafted Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Allen Robinson No. 11 overall. Chicago Bears wide receiver Alshon Jeffery went in the second round, while Jay Cutler and Kevin White were “mid-round guys.”

“I’m excited to see how [John] Lackey does,” Hammel stated. “First-time player. He’s an unknown. He looked like he knew what he was doing. I’m excited to see how it plays out.”

How long are the odds Tebow ever plays at Citi Field? Pretty long, although it is not impossible if he is dedicated and applies himself for multiple seasons, given his athleticism. Michael Jordan, in his lone season with the Chicago White Sox, hit .202 with three homers and 51 RBIs in 436 at-bats with Double-A Birmingham. Would he have received a cup of coffee in the majors had he not returned to the NBA?

Last spring training, Cespedes’ daily cavalcade of cars and a horseback entry created a stir that ultimately prompted manager Terry Collins to say it’s time to put the showmanship aside and have the focus entirely on baseball. If there’s a downside to Tebow’s being around in camp, it would be all the media attention and whether that starts to detract from the team’s focus as it prepares for the season. Alderson did say there is no guarantee Tebow receives a spring-training invite to big-league camp.

The New York Yankees completed a sweep of the Toronto Blue Jays with a 2-0 victory, as Bryan Mitchell pitched five scoreless innings in his 2016 debut, Luis Severino pitched three scoreless innings and Didi Gregorius hit cleanup for the ninth time. The Yankees are winning with Didi Gregorius hitting cleanup! How can you not root for this team? (Wait, did I write that? Clear head. Remind self that these are still the Yankees, owners of 27 World Series titles, owners of MLB’s largest payroll at the start of the season … but I digress.)
